Cool Wines from Bachenbülach with Prototype Character
Prototype Wines
Prototyp stands for honest and surprising wines with a touch of experimental flair from Bachenbülach.
We want to bring wines to the table that emphasize their unique characteristics instead of overpowering them. Wines in which the peculiarities of the vine, the soil, and the weather, as well as our passion and winemaking craftsmanship, come into their own.
To achieve this, we try out new things and tinker with cultivation and care, with harvesting, and in the cellar. This creates wines with their own character, to which they remain true over the years, but which also surprise with each vintage.
Cultivation and Vinification
Prototype wines are made from Pinot Noir grapes from the "Im Rindli" vineyard in Bachenbülach in the Zurich Unterland. We carefully and naturally tend and cultivate our vines. The grapevines thrive in an optimal location on the slope of our local mountain, "Brueder".
We manage the plots with a lot of manual labor and a focus on quality rather than quantity. We also experiment a little – always with the aim of preserving and improving the fundamental character of a wine, while emphasizing the individuality of the vintage.
To continue this idea in the cellar, we have our grapes vinified into genuine prototype wines by Michael Angst of Weingut Sonnenberg in Wil ZH, following our philosophy. Wines for the soul, the palate, and the spirit.
Honest.
Surprising.
Truly "casual" wines from here, you know.
The Vintner
We, André & Diana, grew up in Bülach and have been living in Bachenbülach with our two sons since 2019. We are both nature lovers, enjoy traveling, are active, and adventurous.
Since 2020, we have been cultivating a vineyard plot "Im Rindli."
Working in the vineyard grips and fulfills us. We try, learn, have fun, and want to continuously develop ourselves to create cool wines that bring joy to us and others.
